Once again it is time for the yearly look back on this blog. This year has been the year of Gabe. Most of the posts on this site, and most of the visits were to check up on the little guy. Something about having a baby really brings in the users.

Gabe was born on 1/28/08 around 8:30 in the morning. Being born early in the year has given us nearly a full year to post pictures and videos of him. It has been a joy to see him growing up and hitting each milestone. We hope you have enjoyed watching him as much as we have through our posts.

Over the last year we had almost 3950 visits (Up 350 from last year), with about 1394 (Up 694 from last year) of those being unique users (Non repeat views). This is not bad at all for a personal site. The majority of our traffic comes from other sites (40.20% – Such as facebook, myspace, others blogs, our photo gallery, and google images), friends and family members (46.51 %) , and search engines (13.29%).

Some of the most popular searches in 2008 were: monkey bar tv, monkey, stand alone monkey bars, pe ell floods, code monkey and home run monkey. Apparently monkeys were popular in 2008.

Nearly 92% of our traffic this year came from the United States (Washington and Hawaii, with hits here and there from most states), but we also got visitors from around the world. Most of this traffic is probably just random searches and I doubt they stayed long. In fact 72% of folks left our site after less then a minute on the site (Down from 76% last year). Clearly we are not the monkey site they were looking for.

The most popular places on the site this year though were the front page and the photo gallery followed by any news or pictures of Gabe.

We hope everyone had a great 2008, and we look forward to sharing thousands of more pictures and video of Gabe in 2009 (And a few of the dog)!
