Hello everybody! Here is the latest news in the world of baby Hudson. Yesterday, an unnamed relative of Josh’s took us to an undisclosed location for an “off the record” ultrasound. I won’t mention her by name–but she rocks!!! We discovered that our baby is, yes, still very much a boy. He’s head down/butt up, so he still prefers showing off his “goods” rather than his face. However we were able to see enough of his face from time to time to see his little eyelids flicker open, and he was also skilled at sticking his tongue out at us. We also discovered that he is very tactile, and his little hands were constantly in motion. First, they were used to suck on (see top picture and think visual/abstract), then we saw surprisingly long little fingers holding on to the umbilical cord, and then we saw one of his hands grasped firmly onto one of his feet.

We also learned that our baby is quite healthy and, well, roly-poly. If you look at the second picture, you can actually make out fat rolls along his calf and under his knee. Our awesome “unnamed relative” informed us that he could possibly weigh as much as 6 pounds (this is at nearly 35 weeks along). Since he’s so well-developed, there is a remote possibility he could arrive a little earlier than his due date. So much for Josh’s hope of getting to watch the super bowl in peace–ha ha. However, he could be functioning on Baxter time, which means we won’t see him until Valentine’s Day.

The last picture posted features one little foot, and Josh swears up and down that he saw the baby curl his toes just like I can (which he affectionately calls my monkey-toes). This is OK, because I swore up and down that the baby’s nose looks just like Josh’s old one (pre-surgery).
